The Catalyst Method

A catalyst creates change that wouldn’t happen otherwise. In chemistry, it accelerates a reaction without being consumed by it — it doesn’t do the work for you, it creates the conditions that make the work possible. That’s what Catalyst is built to be.

The Catalyst Way is a training methodology built on biomechanics: assessing how your body actually moves, then training the kinetic chain that produces every athletic action you take.

What Is the Kinetic Chain?

Almost every powerful movement is rotational — a swing, a throw, a change of direction, even picking up your kid off the floor. These movements don’t start at the arm or shoulder. They start at the ground and travel through a sequence of body segments before reaching their endpoint.

That sequence is the kinetic chain. Trained properly, it moves force efficiently and generates power without strain. Ignored, athletes compensate — and compensation is where plateaus and injuries come from. Assessing and training the kinetic chain isn’t a feature of how we train. It’s the foundation.

Pillar One: Strength, Mobility, and Longevity

These are usually treated as separate goals — strength for the weight room, mobility for the warm-up, longevity for after you get hurt. At Catalyst, they’re one system. A strong body that can’t move freely will break down. A mobile body without strength can’t generate power. Every program we write balances load with range of motion, intensity with recovery, and short-term results with long-term resilience.

Pillar Two: Biomechanics and the Kinetic Chain

This is the science behind everything we do. Using TPI screening, biomechanics data, and movement assessment, we identify exactly where force is being lost or leaked in your kinetic chain — then build a program to close that gap. For rotational athletes especially — golfers, throwers, hitters — this is where performance and durability are actually won or lost.

Pillar Three: Athleticism Is For Everyone

We don’t gatekeep performance. Athleticism is a capacity every person carries, not a gift reserved for the elite. The principles of our programming don’t change based on who you are — a competitive pitcher and a 50-year-old golfer are trained with the same attention to biomechanics and kinetic chain mechanics. What changes is the application. Every person who comes to Catalyst is treated as an athlete, because that’s exactly what they are.

Our Commitment

Personalized programming — always

Your program is written for your body, your history, your goals. We never hand you a generic plan and call it coaching.

A community worth showing up for

Coaches who know your name, athletes who push each other forward, and an environment where everyone belongs.

Honest, measurable results

We track what matters, set real benchmarks, and hold ourselves accountable to your progress.

Who We’re For

Catalyst is located in Northville, Michigan, and trains athletes of every age and level — junior golfers and competitive throwers, college athletes, and adults who want to move and feel better. Whatever your goal, we start the same way: assess the movement, understand the biomechanics, build the plan.

“We don’t just train people. We change how they move, how long they stay in the game, and how much they enjoy every moment of it.”
