Meet Coach Logan

Coached by experience. Grounded in science.

Coach Logan brings something most performance coaches don’t: he’s been the athlete in the room. His background as a competitive athlete and professional golfer means he understands what it feels like to perform under pressure, to manage a body through a long season, and to chase the margins that separate good from great.

That experience is the lens through which he coaches. But it’s paired with something equally important: a rigorous academic foundation in how the human body actually works.

Background

After his playing career, Logan returned to school to pursue a deeper understanding of human and athletic performance. He earned his Master’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Wayne State University, where he developed a particular focus on kinetic chain mechanics and biomechanical movement analysis — the foundation of everything we do at Catalyst.

He left Wayne State with both the credentials and the conviction that most athletes were leaving performance on the table, not because they weren’t working hard enough, but because they weren’t training the right things.

Certifications

Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) — Level 1 Certified

TPI certification is built around a comprehensive system of biomechanical screening and movement analysis applied specifically to golf performance. Every Catalyst session incorporates TPI principles — whether the athlete plays golf or not — because the movement insights transfer across all rotational sports.

Certified ArmCare Specialist

ArmCare certification trains coaches to assess, monitor, and manage upper body and throwing athletes using evidence-based screening and workload management tools. This certification informs every arm care and overhead athlete program at Catalyst, allowing for precision in both performance development and injury prevention.

How Coach Logan Coaches

Logan’s approach is direct, science-backed, and built around the individual in front of him. He doesn’t hand you a template — he builds something for you, adjusted as you develop, grounded in what the research actually says about how bodies move, how performance is built, and how athletes stay healthy over time.

He believes that athletes who understand why they’re training the way they are buy in more, progress faster, and stay in the game longer. Education is part of every session at Catalyst — not just instruction.
